You will find a list of questions that we are frequently asked by swimmers and parents. The Swimming Eagles are dedicated to supporting the swimmer and the parent. During the season there will be parent meetings to go over any concerns or suggestions you may have. During these meetings we will also offer some helpful pointers for you as a parent relating to swimming.
We are a non-profit, private organization. We are a parent run competative swim team and have been in existence for 17 years. We are sanctioned by USA swimming and travel within the states of Kentucky and Tennessee.
Monthly Dues, USA Swimming Registration, Family Registration Fee: $100, Equipment, Swim Meet Fees. There is a breakdown of these fees in the fee section of this site.
Although we practice at the Ft. Campbell Army base you do not have to be a Military ID holder to participate. The team can make arrangements for you.
There are several ways that a parent can help. They can become a board member, an official, timer, team photographer. But most importantly they should support their swimmer and the other swimmers on the team.
That depends on the level your swimmer is at. The higher the level the higher the time commitment. The coach will decide what group your swimmer should be in and if you find that it seems to be more than you can handle please discuss it with her. Adjustments can be made to their training schedule.
USA Swimming is the National Governing Body for the sport of swimming. They administer competitive swimming in accordance with the Amateur Sports Act. They provide programs and services for our members, supporters, affiliates and the interested public. You can find out more about USA Swimming at: www.usaswimming.org

Motivational times are a great way for your swimmer to set goals. They are based on age groups and events. When a swimmer competes at a meet they will receive a time and that time may fall within the motivational time standards. Motivational times are used to help a swimmer reach a goal of a "B" time. Example: an 10& Under Girls 50 Yard Free "B" time is 39.79, "BB" time is 35.99, "A" 32.19. After they reach that goal they then want to try for a "BB", "A", "AA" with each time getting faster. When you sign up for the team you will receive a copy of the motivational time standards. At the end of the competitive season if your swimmer has received a motivational "A" time they can compete in the "A" championships held in March.
You can help your swimmer set goals other than motivational times. Like you may want them to complete a 100 Fly or another stroke with clean technique or faster than their own personal best time. It may take a swimmer years before they reach a motivational time but that doesn't mean they are not growing as swimmers. Technique is just as important as speed!
